Parallel Universes by Icelandic artist Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir is a multimedia installation inspired by the physical idea of String Theory. It was created for a solo exhibition at the Reykjavik Art Museum, Iceland 2008, followed with exhibitions in Lithuania 2011 and Germany 2012. The artwork is made with 27,000 bobbins wound with threads of different materials, which either absorb photons and glow in the dark, or reflect light. The illumination varies and Parallel Universes has many appearances.
